New construction requires

$80K in repairs!

  • The home builder dismissed concerns and failed to honor warranty.

  • City of San Angelo issued a Certificate of Occupancy, but the home is NOT BUILT TO CODE.

  • Permits issued with zero accountability.

  • State-mandated 2021 Energy Code and how the San Angelo City Council erased all accountability.

Behind the Drywall: The draft of inspiration

This case began with the purchase of a newly constructed home, chosen with the expectation that it complied with the adopted building code and had passed required inspections.

After occupancy, multiple conditions were discovered that did not meet code requirements — despite having been approved during construction.

What followed exposed a simple reality: approval does not always mean compliance, and accountability can be difficult to obtain.
